The supply of bio sequestration agricultural credits generated from significantly reduced tillage operations in Canada will play a key role in the establishment of a liquid GHG emission offset credit market. Emission credits can potentially be generated under a number of agricultural related areas, including:

  • Zero and reduced till cultivation practices
  • Forage operations
  • Wetlands projects
  • Methane capture projects in dairy and feedlot operations

Terra Verde offers unique contract options to suppliers of agricultural based credits. They can include the following:

  • Full or partial acreage commitments
  • Single or multi-year commitments
  • Market flexibility
  • Industry leading payment terms

If you are leasing land, you can include those lands in the credit opportunities as long as there is an agreement with the landlord as to ownership of or entitlement to the credits. Most leases currently in existence will not likely have considered the issue of carbon credit offsets, although with time that will change. To assist in this, Terra Verde has prepared a form of lease addendum for landlords and tenants to formalize the credit ownership.
